The MBraun Glove Box is dedicated only for lithium battery assembly. It is filled with argon gas. All materials must be pre-approved by FabLab staff before using in this glove box. Materials may only be placed in/removed using one of the two antechambers located on the right side of the tool.

Please follow the operating procedures described below. Oxidizers, nitrogen gas and water are specifically prohibited in the glove box as these materials may react explosively if in contact with lithium. If a user contaminates the glove box by not following procedures, the glove box must be fully purged and refilled with Argon at the user’s expense. This cost may exceed $500 and the unit could be down for six weeks or more.

If you plan to bring external materials into the lab, please notify the FabLab staff to ensure proper safety protocols and any equipment arrangements can be made ahead of your reservation. Please submit an External Materials Request form for each material you will bring.
