Driving Directions

From Baltimore:
Take I-95 South to the Capital Beltway (I-495) and follow signs to College Park, US Route 1 South. Proceed approximately two miles south on US Route 1 to the University's Campus Drive entrance. Turn right onto Campus Drive and immediately make another right turn onto Paint Branch Drive. Go straight, past the Kim Engineering Bldg., turn left into the visitor parking area. After exiting your vehicle, use the pay station and walk south on Paint Branch Drive back to the Kim Engineering Bldg. If Lot 9c is full, you may also use the Regents Drive Garage.

From Annapolis and points east:
Take US Route 50 to the Capital Beltway (I-95/495) and go north on I-95/495 to Exit 25, College Park, US Route 1 South. Proceed approximately two miles south on US Route 1 to the University's Campus Drive entrance. Turn right onto Campus Drive and immediately make a right turn onto Paint Branch Drive. Go straight, past the Kim Engineering Bldg., turn left into the visitor parking area. After exiting your vehicle, use the pay station and walk south on Paint Branch Drive back to the Kim Engineering Bldg. If Lot 9c is full, you may also use the Regents Drive Garage.

From within the city of Washington, D.C.:
Go northeast on Rhode Island Avenue (US Route 1). After entering the state of Maryland, continue on US Route 1 for approximately five miles to College Park. Turn left at the light onto Campus Drive and immediately make another right turn onto Paint Branch Drive. Go straight, past the Kim Engineering Bldg., turn left into the visitor parking area. After exiting your vehicle, use the pay station and walk south on Paint Branch Drive back to the Kim Engineering Bldg. If Lot 9c is full, you may also use the Union Lane Parking Garage.

From points south and west of Washington, D.C., and Montgomery County, MD:
Take the Capital Beltway (I-495) and head north and east. Just after I-495 joins I-95 in Maryland above Washington, D.C., get off at exit 25B toward College Park on US Route 1 South. Proceed approximately two miles south on US Route 1 to the University's Campus Drive entrance. Turn right onto Campus Drive and immediately make another right turn onto Paint Branch Drive. Go straight, past the Kim Engineering Bldg., turn left into the visitor parking area. After exiting your vehicle, use the pay station and walk south on Paint Branch Drive back to the Kim Engineering Bldg. If Lot 9c is full, you may also use the Regents Drive Garage.

Washington Metro Directions

We are located on the Green Line at the College Park Metro stop.

  • Take UMD Shuttle #104 from the College Park Metro to the M Circle stop. Check the UMD DOTS schedule to make sure the shuttle is running and for times.
  • Walk east toward the University entrance.
  • Turn Left onto Paint Branch Drive.
  • Continue through the 3-way stop and the Kim Building is on the right.

Parking

The closest visitor parking is in Lot H, just south of the Kim Building. There are 7 metered spots.

Additionally, there are metered visitor parking in Regents Garage as well as in Lot 9c.

Offices

Our offices are located on the first floor on the East side of the Kim Building (closest to Paint Branch Dr.).

Director - 1128 Kim

FabLab - 2302 Kim - The FabLab is located on the 2nd floor in the South Wing of the Kim Building.

AIMLab - 1237 Kim - The AIMLab is located on the 1st floor in the North West corner of the Kim Building.
