IMEC, the Interuniversity MicroElectronics Center, is headquartered in Leuven Belgium and boasts an outstanding reputation and major accomplishments in semiconductor technology development, with dozens of partners worldwide. IMEC is seeking to develop new research areas in nano, and chose Maryland as a location for its efforts, meeting with representatives of Maryland NanoCenter, NIST, and the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development.
